2014 has been an amazing year.
In January of 2014 I posted my new years resolution on my Facebook page. My resolution was to do twice as many sessions in 2014 as I did in 2013. I had about 360 “likes” on my Facebook page at that point and did not yet have this blog up and running.
Starting this blog in March 2014 was scary for me. I don’t enjoy putting myself out there. I was afraid no one would bother to look at my posts. Afraid no one would hire me to take their pictures. Afraid of annoying people by posting too much on social media. Afraid to fail completely and look foolish.
I forced my self little by little to start posting more. I gave away a few sessions to get people interested and slowly but surely emails started coming in. I doubled and eventually more than tripled the number of sessions I did in 2013.
This year photography went from being my hobby, to my part time job. I edited photos for hours and hours on end. My work evolved and I learned more by just DOING than I ever thought possible. I met people who inspired me to be better. I had such *amazing* clients. I hope that through the images I captured for them I could give them an ounce of the joy they gave to me. My friends and family were SO supportive and gave me tons encouragement. My husband told me I was good enough on the days I felt I wasn’t. All of the glory belongs to God because without Him I am nothing. I am blown away by how much he has blessed me this year and I can’t wait to see what 2015 brings!
Cheers to the New Year and thank you to all who made this one special!
